Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty missiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and three other people were wounded.

The strikes follow nights of air raids in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and officials were preparing for more assaults.
